The majority of I-27 will see its speed limit raised from 70 to 75 mph

TxDOT and the Texas Transportation Commission this morning approved more than $230 million dollars in funding for Ports-to-Plains Corridor construction projects. The funding is among $1.4 billion dollars in transportation construction funded by Proposition 12 bonds.
Farm-to-Market 835 will be closed from just south of Farm-to-Market 3523 to Farm-to-Market 3020.
TxDOT is set to begin a project Tuesday, which will make pavement repairs to various areas of Slide Road from South Loop 289 to 98th Street.
Motorists can expect possible I-27 frontage road traffic signal timing issues and delays through the work area as the Avenue A signals are being removed.
The $47.7 million project will build the freeway main lanes and frontage roads from Avenue L to just east of I-27, as well as the I-27 interchange.
Traffic from I-27 will be directed onto the Marsha Sharp Freeway early next week, and an area of the freeway will close for area drainage improvements.
