Inler, also known as Farm-to-Market Road 179, will close between 34th and 50th Streets beginning Tuesday, July 30th.

TxDOT crews continue to work on the $5.4 million project to extend Slide Road to US 84.

Lubbock District projects were among 56 projects statewide approved by the TTC.

Work to make temporary repairs to the intersection is underway, and is expected to take several hours to complete.

The closure will begin after the morning rush and will allow contractors to place beams for the new southbound Loop 289 bridge.

Crews will place a hotmix overlay on the street, and the work will require various lane closures on Fourth Street from Indiana Avenue to Slide Road.

More than three miles of the road will be resurfaced at a cost of more than $1.2 million.

Construction work will begin next week to complete a phase of the Marsha Sharp Freeway project.

The repairs are on the concrete median barrier. The westbound Loop 289 shoulder and inside main lane are closed to traffic, as is the eastbound Loop 289 shoulder.

Message signs alerting motorists of the change were placed last week for northbound and southbound Slide Road traffic.
