US 84 Lane Reductions as Part of Slide Road Expansion

Lanes of US 84 will close Monday as part of the Slide Road extension project.

Eastbound and westbound US 84 will be reduced to one lane between north Frankford and Quaker Avenues.

TxDOT crews continue to work on the $5.4 million project to extend Slide Road to US 84.

The inside-lane closures will allow crews to construct a new crossover on US 84 at the future Slide Road location, and are expected to remain in place through July. Other crossovers along the work area will be closed to traffic during construction as well.

The project will add 1.4 miles of Slide Road to the City of Lubbock’s transportation system.

Delays can be expected in the area.
