Avenue Q Resurfacing Project to Begin in Lubbock

A maintenance project to resurface Avenue Q will begin next week.

TxDOT will begin the project to resurface Avenue Q from 5^th Street to I-27 on Monday, June 10^th.

More than three miles of the road will be resurfaced at a cost of more than $1.2 million.

Motorists can expect various daily lane closures, possible traffic delays, and are urged to use caution while driving in the work zone.

Crews will be working in close proximity to traffic, leading TxDOT to urge motorists to slow down and follow posted work zone speed limits, pay attention, and be patient.

Motorists will not be able to park on-street along areas of Avenue Q during the project.

The work is scheduled to be completed in early July.
