Rep. Randy Neugebauer Defends Farm Programs
As congress works on a farm bill, www.cnsnews.com , a conservative website, is running an article in which the writer calls the farm bill one of the most flagrant examples of corporate welfare in the federal budget.
On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Rep. Randy Neugebauer disagreed.
“This farm bill that’s coming up, it’s going to be a balanced approach where producers have skin in the game. For example, the direct payments, which is something which has taken a lot of criticism because a lot of people felt like that was paying farmers to do nothing, those payments are going away. What basically we’re going to see in this farm bill is a farm bill that provides a safety net, and the producers have skin in the game.
