Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, James Arnold, President of American Bank of Commerce in Lubbock, joined the program to talk about the state of the economies of Lubbock and the South Plains.

Arnold and Hasty discussed the continuing strong growth in and around West Texas, and some of the specific economic areas contributing to that growth, including automobile sales and home construction, among other factors.

While speaking about the long life of the good economy and his expectations for the near future, Arnold said,

If you look at it, take a step back, and look at the national economy, this is the longest economic expansion in our history. It kind of started happening in '09 and '10, and now we're in '19 and we're still seeing low unemployment nationally, we're seeing growth, we're seeing retail growth. What goes up goes down. We're bound for a correction at some point, we just hope it's not a big one like it was in '07 and '08.
