Representative Jodey Arrington Says Trade Deals Will Benefit Cotton Producers [INTERVIEW]
On Friday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show District 19 Representative Jodey Arrington joined Chad to discuss news and events in the country and in Texas.
Arrington and Hasty talked about the trade negotiations and agreements being successfully made, not only with China, but with Japan as well, and how those deals will affect agriculture producers.
About the Trump administration's trade major accomplishments being realized during the past few days, and what it all means for agriculture, Arrington said,
The future looks bright, the pastures look greener, because this president did what no other president has done Chad. This is what I love most about this president...He will not settle for window dressing. He's not a politician, he's a business guy. He is not going to leave the table until he gets a real substantive deal, that's what this is, [and there is] a lot more to come.
While talking about direct effects on South Plains agriculture, Arrington said,
Times are [currently] tough...but long term, these things are going to give us a whole lot of a shot at prosperity in West Texas and in ag economies like it around the country.
Also discussed was the impeachment of President Trump, the coming trial in the U.S. Senate, the extreme partisan nature of the proceedings, and the consequences of "weaponizing" the impeachment process for political purposes.
