By now we are pretty sure that you know that Election Day is just one day away. One Tuesday, November 3rd voters will head to the polls to vote in a number of elections. While the Presidential race has been the most talked about and watched, Lubbock's Mayoral race is one that should be just as important to City of Lubbock voters.

If Lubbock's Mayoral race had not been lumped in with the other elections, I have a feeling that it would have grabbed even more headlines than it has garnered already.

Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope is seeking a third term as Mayor. He is being challenged by Stephen Sanders. Both candidates are running as conservative Republicans and both face skepticism from voters about how conservatives they really are.

Rather than lay out where the candidates stand on the issues or lay out the potential issues and questions both candidates have had to face in this election, I will point you to the debate that we hosted on KFYO between Mayor Dan Pope and Stephen Sanders. I will also link you to an interview with Mayor Dan Pope and an interview with Stephen Sanders.

By listening to those interviews and the debate, I feel confident that you can learn more about both men running for office.

So who do you support in the race for Mayor of Lubbock? Let us know in the poll below. And don't forget to vote on Tuesday in the real election.
