Texas Online Colleges has ranked Texas Tech as the best online college in the state of Texas among the 20 that were considered.

Tech's score of 99 out of 100 was the highest of all the schools on the list. This score was calculated using 7 points: Student-to-faculty ratio, number of degrees an institution awards in the program's field each year, graduation rate, retention rate, percentage of online students, concentrated influence and desirability.

Texas Tech also ranked at #2 as the best value online college in the state as well as among the most affordable online colleges in Texas.

These rankings considered the quality of academics offered by each, as well as the number of students who graduate from these online programs.

To be considered for the list at all, a school must offer at least 3 online bachelor's degrees.

Justin Louder, associate vice provost for eLearning & Academic Partnerships said:

Texas Tech University is a leader in online education and has been for many years [...] Our faculty, staff, and administration work together to be sure that the programs we offer online are of the highest quality and are accessible to learners from wherever they may be.

KAMC News reports that Texas Online Colleges praised TTU and eLearning & Academic Partnerships for its commitment to providing education opportunities for veterans and active military members.
