Can Coach McCasland Lead Red Raider Basketball To Another Strong Run?

Anyone who kept up with Texas Tech basketball last season knows how well they did on the court. So, can head coach McCasland drive another powerful season for the Red Raiders?

While we wait and find out, we DO know some more details on the upcoming Big 12 matchups in the road ahead in the 2026-2027 season.

Texas Tech's Standing Last Season

Last year, the Red Raiders ended the season 23-11, overall. That 67% win rate was not done by chance. Coach McCasland has worked hard during practice to strengthen the team's weak points.

Among the overall win-loss score, Tech won 12 of 16 conference games, and 14 of the total 16 home games last season.

ESPN Spotlight Game

Looking ahead at what's to come, it's finally revealed what ESPN has on their ABC lineup this season, and Texas Tech sure has a fight ahead of them.

The one game, however, that will shine the spotlight on the Red Raiders this year is when they face Kansas on Saturday, February 6, at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas.

Tip-off is at 11 a.m., and the game will be featured on the ESPN on ABC lineup.

Looking at the last few matchups between Texas Tech and Kansas, the Red Raiders head into this February game at 2-1 against the Jayhawks.

Don't take my word for how exciting this matchup will be. Here's what ESPN had to say about the TTU vs. Kansas game this season:

Two perennial Big 12 contenders square off in a matchup that could carry major conference championship implications. Texas Tech and Kansas have established themselves among the conference's premier programs, setting the stage for a marquee showdown inside Allen Fieldhouse.

So, let's all show our support for the Red Raiders this season and watch the incredible basketball team make it to the playoffs yet again!
