Texas Tech Surges Into The Top 10 In Latest Coaches Poll

The US LBM Coaches Poll has finally been released, and Texas Tech is within the top 10 after an impressive 3-0 streak so far this season.

US LBM Coaches Poll

Each week throughout the regular season, US LBM gathers head coaches at schools within the Football Bowl Subdivision. Each coach is then asked to create a top 25 list where the number-one school is worth 25 points, incrementally counting down where the 25th school is just awarded one point.

After accumulating every submission, the points are totaled and each school is placed in a final Top 25 list in order of how many points they received from every head coach put together.

For the current week of the 2026-2027 regular season, here are the top 10 schools along with their point total:

1. Texas Longhorns - 1807 points
2. Georgia Bulldogs - 1742 points
3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - 1636 points
4. Indiana Hoosiers - 1613 points
5. Miami Hurricanes - 1552 points
6. Ole Miss Rebels - 1501 points
7. Ohio State Buckeyes - 1473 points
8. Alabama Crimson Tide - 1309 points
9. BYU Cougars - 1089 points
10. Texas Tech Red Raiders - 1079 points

Texas Tech reaching the Top 10 is an impressive feat, especially considering they were ranked No. 12 in the previous Coaches Poll.

To put this into perspective from a Big 12 standpoint, BYU is the only school above Tech on the list. Utah is also on the list, but isn't mentioned until No. 15.

Texas Tech On a Hot Streak

Texas Tech has been doing all the right things after their victory over Houston on Sunday, earning their 10th consecutive home game win and their 8th victory over Houston in a row.
