When asked about President Obama’s new budget, Leppert said it was just another example of the president not looking out for the country. He said that the budget contains no real spending cuts, and that revenues are in trouble because of increasing taxes. He also talked about some cabinet positions he’d like to do away with, stating that education should be at a local level, and that it should be the responsibility of the private sector to create jobs. Leppert also commented about the city-owned hotel and convention center that was developed while he was mayor in Dallas.
