Texas DPS Drug Bust in Garza County

A traffic stop conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop in Garza County resulting in the seizure of drugs, guns and cash.

On Thursday, December 4, just after 10 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic violation stop on a 2001 Nissan Maxima traveling south on US Highway 84 near Post.

The trooper called for a K-9 backup division and subsequently discovered four pounds of marijuana, seven grams of hash, $2700 in cash and a pistol.

The driver, 30-year-old Brian Michael of Reno, NV, and passenger Fabian Moreno, 28, of Sparks, NV, were both arrested and booked into the Garza County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Reno to Austin.
