After the barbaric terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, the Texas Department of Public Safety is urging all Texans to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

While DPS is not currently aware of any threats to the state of Texas, they, like other law enforcement agencies around the United States and around the world are concerned about "lone-wolf attacks". According to KXAN, DPS is worried that the terrorist attack in Israel could inspire homegrown terrorists to carry out attacks.

However, DPS said it is not aware of any specific, credible threats to Texas at this time. Though, the department said it has concerns the current conflict could inspire homegrown violent extremists and foreign terrorist organizations in the United States to target the Jewish community and institutions that are associated with Israel outside of the Middle East, according to DPS.

Texans can always report suspicious activity to law enforcement as well as on the iWatchTexas mobile app and website.
