On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, mayor pro temp and councilwoman for District 5 Karen Gibson talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about some of the concerns with the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA).
The upcoming City of Lubbock budget, which will begin on October 1st, includes a three-percent across the board pay increase for City employees, coming out to around $3.8 million dollars.
District 5 Councilwoman Karen Gibson was elected by the Council to serve as mayor pro tem. Council also approved renovations for the new Health Department Building, and more.
Their meetings currently begin with citizen comment at 7:30 a.m., followed by executive session, then back to meeting in the chambers. The new meetings times are expected to begin in August.
