The Lubbock City Council approved a controversial amendment last night by a 5-2 vote with Mayor Glen Robertson and Councilwoman Karen Gibson opposing. The amendment was offered up from Councilwoman Latrelle Joy and it authorized $200,000 dollars to be used to pay for the hiring of 3 new city administrators. The positions are for two internal auditors and one City Council assistant.

This morning on KFYO, Mayor Glen Robertson said he was absolutely against the amendment and said that hiring for police and codes should be more of a priority if the City Council feels like they have to hire people.
