Lubbock Police arrested a man on the morning of Wednesday, December 17, after he led officers on a high speed chase through east and central Lubbock.

Officers were dispatched to Prosperity Bank at 15th Street and Avenue Q. just after 11 a.m. to a burglary in progress.

The suspect, identified as David Lee Brewer, fled the bank in a blue Cadillac as officers were arriving and subsequently led officers on a chase through east and central Lubbock.

Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase which ended at Globe Avenue near Municipal Drive at around 11:20 a.m.

Lubbock Police report a low-speed collision was used to disable the vehicle due to the hazardous nature of Brewer's driving.

61-year-old Brewer has been booked into the Lubbock County Jail on charges of Robbery, Evading Arrest in a Vehicle and Tampering with Evidence.
