TTU Free Market Institute Hosting Event On COVID-19 And Economics
The Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University will host a very timely discussion on COVID-19 and the impact that the pandemic and the reaction to the pandemic has had on the economy along with the impact on freedom and health.
Dr. Ben Powell, Executive Director of the Free Market Institute joined KFYO's Chad Hasty to promote the event and invite the public out to the discussion which will take place on Monday evening on the campus of Texas Tech University.
Dr. Alexander Salter, Free Market Institute Economics Research Fellow, also joined the show to discuss his role in tonight's discussion. Salter will discuss how the Federal Reserve's powers have grown, unchecked, during the response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Monday's event will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building in the Red Raider Ballroom at Texas Tech University.

Powell said many different aspects of the pandemic will be discussed during the one hour event. Including how the United States has dealt with the pandemic compared to other nations and how states have done in compression to other states. Those who attend will also hear about how closures have impacted the economy and how these new found powers could be used in the future.
