Lubbock Police Make Arrest in Fatal Shooting of Tyshaun Bates, Charge 2 Others for Aggravated Robbery
Three people have now been arrested in connection to the murder of 20-year-old Tyshaun Bates.
Twenty-four-year-old Lisa Morales and 22-year-old Quawnard Williams have both been charged with aggravated robbery, while 22-year-old Daytron Hood was charged with murder. Daytron Hood is the man police believe shot and killed Bates.
The three arrested were allegedly involved in robbing Tyshaun Bates inside his apartment in the 4600 block of 50th Street on April 10th, 2019. Bates was reportedly selling marijuana to Morales at the time, who claimed she need to get more money from her car.
That's when Williams and Daytron allegedly entered the apartment and robbed Bates. All three suspects fled the scene, but not before Daytron allegedly shot and severely wounded Bates. EMS transported Bates to a local hospital, but he did not survive.
Morales was arrested by police Tuesday, April 23rd, at a residence in the 5000 block of Avenue W. Williams was arrested April 15th by investigators with the Texas Anti-Gang Center on unrelated charges.
According to police, Hood was arrested during a traffic stop in Memphis, Texas on Saturday, April 20th, and was brought back to Lubbock. He also faces a charge for a parole violation.
