The Car Pro Test Drives the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer
Thursday on Sunrise LBK with Dave King and Tom Collins, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Tom to talk about his test drive of the week, a Houston auto auction, as well as other auto industry news.
This week, The Car Pro was test driving the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, an SUV that originally came out in 2021, and falls somewhere between the Chevy Trax and the Chevy Equinox. Jerry was initially not looking forward to driving this car, as he is not a fan of cars with 3 cylinder engines, but his mind was soon changed. The Trailblazer has a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine with a turbo that has 151 horses, and in addition to this car being light, Jerry said that it will really get up and go, saying, "If you didn't know it was a 3 cylinder, you wouldn't expect it." Additionally, you can get a version of this car with an even smaller engine, being a 1.3 liter 3 cylinder engine. Reynolds said that he suspects that a smaller engine that puts out more horsepower is a good combo, and one that we will continue to see in the future. The car is all wheel drive, gets 31 miles to the gallon on the highway, 26 in town, is fairly quiet on the inside, and has a surprising amount of headroom. The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer has a window sticker price of $31,000, and comes with everything you could want on it. Additionally, the smallest version starts at $19,000, making it one of the cheapest SUVs in America.
The Car Pro also talked about stories on his website carprousa.com. One story talks about the First Ever Barrett-Jackson Auction that is taking place in Houston today, and how to learn more info. Another story is about the Importance of Getting the Correct Rear Axel Ratio, which Jerry says is very important for people who tow things, and something he gets asked about a lot.
