A Texas Tech School of Law graduate has been appointed as a district judge.

Rick J. Kennon of Round Rock has been appointed by Governor Rick Perry as judge of the 368th Judicial District in Williamson County.

Kennon has been a trial attorney for 29 years, 24 of which have been in private practice. He is a former assistant attorney general under Texas Attorney General Jim Mattox and a former prosecutor for the Travis County Attorney’s Office.

His term will begin on October 31st and will expire at the next general election.

Kennon received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a law degree from the Texas Tech School of Law.
