"It really adds a dimension that you don't expect. It's still hard rock and roll, and it's still all the guitars, and screaming vocals and all of that, but you have the seniority of the orchestra behind it. It really makes it an incredible experience. And then you have the lights. It's just a rock concert. That's what we're looking forward to," Galen said.

"It's going to be a very enjoyable evening of holiday classics provided by the Lubbock Symphony, and I understand that Handel's Messiah has been a very favorite tradition of the Lubbock community," Cho said.

"The Schumann cello concerto is not very virtuosic...it's more meditative, it's more introverted, and it's more reminiscing. So we thought these music would be so appropriate for the fall and autumn. It would be a perfect date night," Cho said.

"Lubbock Symphony is a treasure of our community and we work together with other arts organizations to make beautiful music and bring quality performances to the Lubbock community," Cho said.

This weekend the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will perform the Virtuosic Power concert series featuring renowned cellist Maja Bogdanovic.
