Wednesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, Conductor David Cho and President and CEO of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra Galen Wixson joined Dave and Matt to talk about the Symphony's upcoming Led Zeppelin show, as well as their free Halloween concert.

Coming up this Friday night, on October 18th at 7:30 PM at the Civic Center, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will be having their Music of Led Zeppelin concert. The event will have a cover band that will play some of Zeppelin's biggest hits, and behind them will be the orchestra adding a new layer to the music. Galen Wixson had this to say,

It really adds a dimension that you don't expect. It's still hard rock and roll, and it's still all the guitars, and screaming vocals and all of that, but you have the seniority of the orchestra behind it. It really makes it an incredible experience. And then you have the lights. It's just a rock concert. That's what we're looking forward to.

You can call the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra at 762-1688 or visit lubbocksymphony.org to get a special deal today, October 16th, where you can get 'buy-one-get-one-free' tickets to the Music of Led Zeppelin concert.

The Lubbock Symphony will also be having their Free Halloween Concert on October 28th at 7 PM at the Civic Center. The event will have indoors trunk-or-treating, various music including all the classics you'd expect from Halloween programs, and a magician who will perform with the symphony. Earlier, at 6:15 PM, they will have a variety of activity tables where kids can learn to build musical instruments and sample percussion instruments. The event is geared towards kids, but all are welcome.

Call the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra at 762-1688 or visit lubbocksymphony.org.
