Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week, new cars, super bowl ads, as well as other auto industry news.
This week The Car Pro was test driving the 2021 Dodge Durango Hellcat, a modified version of an older car that has had a few things added to it...
"This is a car that could be your family car. It could be your daily driver, because it's not like the Hellcat where every time you take off, you're burning rubber," Jerry said.
"This car is the most manageable to drive that i've had. I mean, the allure of 707 horses in the Hellcat is pretty cool, but you're going to pay 25 grand for that. And this car at $57,000 with 485 horses, this car is a very good daily driver. I mean the power is there if you want it, but you don't have to use it. And with the wider tires you're not burning rubber every single time you take off," Jerry said.
"When you take off in this car, and I remember the Hellcats that I've reviewed, this car sounds and feels just as good. I would have never thought that I'd have said that because two-hundred-and-something horses is a big difference, but it just doesn't feel like it," Jerry Reynolds.
"This car makes no sense. Nobody needs 797 horses. It scares the hell out of you everytime you drive it if you get on it too hard, but at the same time, there's people out there this car will really appeal to," Jerry said.
