Test Drive of the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody
Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, the Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week, as well as other auto industry news.
This week the Car Pro was driving the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody, which Jerry has called a "beast of a car." The vehicle has a detuned version of the Dodge Demon's engine with 797 horses. Jerry described it as almost being a NASCAR vehicle, seemingly being made for use on a track, but also performing well as a daily driver in town.
"This car makes no sense. Nobody needs 797 horses. It scares the hell out of you everytime you drive it if you get on it too hard, but at the same time, there's people out there this car will really appeal to."
The car has a window sticker price of $88,000, a launch mode for peel-outs that doesn't burn rubber, and uses a lot of gas.
