Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced Thursday a piece of legislation sure to bring about much debate over the next few months.

Senate Bill 6, also known as the Texas Privacy Act and the Texas 'Bathroom Bill,' would require people in public schools and universities, along with government buildings, to use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex.

The bill would also prevent cities from passing ordinances that force businesses to allow people to use the bathroom that reflects their gender identity. You can read more about the legislation.
