Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, political analyst and Washington Times columnist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to discuss national news and events, as well as the state legislature in Austin.

Mackowiak and Hasty talked about the protests and violence in Charlottesville, Virginia that took place over the weekend, and discussed complaints emanating from all sides about President Trump's handling of the situation.

Mackowiak noted that Trump is being widely criticized for not specifically condemning, by name, the rally and violence by white supremacist groups, and that the lack of such specific criticism needs to end. Mackowiak said,

That would put this behind him. And I just don't understand why they want to continue to give their opponents this weapon to use against them politically.

Mackowiak also talked about Texas legislative news, with only three days left in the special session, and the possibility of a second special session being called by Governor Greg Abbott.
