On Monday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, political analyst and Washington Times columnist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to discuss all the big news from Washington and Austin.

Mackowiak and Hasty talked about the rumors of Republican "shadow campaigns" taking place in preparation for the next presidential election, the special session of the Texas Legislature, and much more.

Expressing no surprise about the "shadow campaigns", Mackowiak said,

The reason that you're starting to see some ambitious Republicans travel the country, start raising money, building their organizations slowly, carefully, quietly, is in case Trump chooses not to run for reelection, either due to the Russia investigation leading somewhere serious, or perhaps it's entirely possible Trump will just choose not, ultimately, to run for reelection, that he doesn't like the job, or that he thought four years was enough, or he just wants to go back to business.
