Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Texas Governor Greg Abbott joined the broadcast to discuss the latest from the 85th Texas Legislature, and detailed progress on several of his agenda issues.

During the interview, Hasty asked Abbott if he believes that his conservative agenda has any chance of passing while Joe Straus is Speaker of the House. While answering the question Abbott said,

If we are going to ensure that Texas remains the model for governance in the United States of America, we must always be passing laws that constrain spending, that reduce regulations. It's those two principles, as well as cutting taxes, that continue to attract and expand the Texas economic environment. So we've got to either make sure we have the current Speaker support those principles, or we've got to get the votes in the House to make sure we're going to get those principles passed.
