Representative Randy Neugebauer joined Tuesday's Chad Hasty Show to discuss the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, the calls for more gun control in the wake of the recent shootings at Umpqua Community College in Utah, and the contest to be the new Speaker of the House.

Neugebauer began the interview talking about the tragic crash of a C-130 Hercules in Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of four Dyess Air Force Base airmen, one of which he had nominated for the Air Force Academy.

About the mainly Democrat demands for tighter restrictions on guns, Neugebauer said,

We see this every time we have one of these terrible instances, the left tries to use this as a gun control issue. Unfortunately bad people are out there, crazy people are out there, and they do bad things. And some people do those with guns, and some do it with other means.

Neugebauer also spoke about the race within the Republican Party to be the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. Among those vying for the position are current House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA), Representative Jason Chafettz (UT), and Daniel Webster (FL). Neugebauer talked about conversations he has had about the issue, and what he expects to take place from this point.
