Police in Plainview have identified a shooting suspect who injured someone on Monday, Dec. 28.

35-year-old Miguel Angel Vela is accused of shooting at someone inside a parked vehicle at an Allsup’s in Plainview at 1307 West 24th Street.

The Plainview Police Department was first made aware of the shooting after the victim called them just after 9 a.m. on Monday and said that he had been shot at and injured.

It's unclear how police were able to find the shooting suspect so quickly, but he was located and arrested at his residence in the 1600 block of West 22nd Street, only 3 blocks away from where the shooting took place.

Vela is currently being held in the Hale County Jail and is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond is set at $25,000.

The victim in the shooting was treated for a minor injury. According to police, the victim was cut by broken glass and was not struck by a bullet,  and no other injures were reported.
