Splish Splash Give Your Produce a Bath

The City of Lubbock closed three out of the four pools this Summer due to some repairs that were needing to be made but were too extreme. There were talks of splash pads to replace those pools that needed the repairs and more details were revealed via social media along with design concepts. So while Summer is coming to an end and we get ready for those splash pads we can still enjoy the fruits of the Summer, or at least September. It seems to be that middle season where it's not yet Summer or Fall but instead when Summer and Fall just meet each other and with that comes all the amazing fruit and vegetables that were grown. There is certain produce that is better harvested in September compared to other months.

Why Is It Spicy?

While we move on from produce we need to remember that one of Texas' favorite drinks comes from plants. Tequila. This beautifully made drink with ancient Mexican roots has been said to be the number one spirit of Texas and I agree it's a strong drink that we just love to have. While this drink can be a bit spicy on the taste buds there is currently something else spicy running through Lubbock in particular and that's the Wing Shack Hotter Than Hell challenge. There is currently no winner of this challenge but maybe real soon we will see someone conquer it, maybe it will be me.

And Now, Mugshots

These 40 mugshots are of individuals arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center during the week of September 11 - September 17, 2023. The individuals charged should be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. All arrestees featured below are those charged with a felony offense. A felony offense is classified by the severity of punishment, ranging from the low level state jail felony all the way to a capital felony.
