Karen Gibson Accuses Gary Boren of Cutting Deal to Avoid Criminal Prosecution [INTERVIEW]
Karen Gibson appeared on Thursday's Chad Hasty Show, to discuss her campaign for Lubbock County Judge. The interview turned explosive when Gibson accused one of her opponents of misdeeds during his time on the Lubbock City Council. Gibson accused Boren of resigning from the Lubbock City Council in 2007 to avoid criminal prosecution.
"I think there's something that needs to be asked, and that is: What kind of deal did Gary Boren cut with the U.S. attorney to resign instead of being prosecuted for his dealings with Ted Parker?"
Hasty pressed Gibson for evidence regarding the accusation, and Gibson said that she had "information that Gary cut and ran" and added she believed Boren was "afraid of criminal prosecution".
During the interview Gibson explained her reasoning for the accusations but never gave concrete proof of any deals made.
