Let’s be real: no El Pasoan  wakes up and says, “Omg, I can’t WAIT to go to the DMV today!” There’s long lines, so many people waiting for hours sometimes, crying babies, and crying adults too if we’re being honest!

A recent report analyzing 140 DMV locations across 30 U.S. cities and the study revealed that not all trips to the DMV are that bad. Really.

These U.S. Cities Have the Best DMVs

According to Sudoku Online, the city that shockingly topped the list for best DMV experience? Indianapolis. We don’t know what they’re putting in the water out there, but apparently, Hoosiers are breezing through renewals like it’s a Chick-fil-A drive-thru.

Other cities with top-tier DMV vibes include Phoenix, Seattle, Jacksonville, Philly, and yup, Texas represent made the list with San Antonio snagging the #10 spot. Looks like San Antonio’s DMV employees might actually smile at you (a rare phenomenon).

These U.S. Cities Have and Worst DMVs

But not all of Texas is winning the DMV game. Sorry to Austin and Fort Worth, who landed on the list of worst DMV cities, at #3 and #10 respectively. If you’ve ever waited three hours just to be told you’re missing one form of ID, you’re not alone. *cries in Spanish*

Worst overall? That honor goes to Charlotte, NC, where three of the five worst-ranked locations reside.

On a positive note, Oklahoma City is getting its act together with the title of “Most Improved.” Meanwhile, Phoenix, Jacksonville, and Philly are apparently serving up the most pleasant DMV experiences in the country.
