Just a few days after his spectacular recruiting weekend, Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells has added another body to his quarterback room.

On Tuesday, former Rice Owls quarterback Jackson Tyner announced that he would be transferring to Texas Tech.

In his three years at Rice, Tyner totaled 1,048 passing yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He was also a pitcher for the Rice baseball team in 2019, totaling 12 innings for the Owls and owning a 0-3 record as well as a 9.00 ERA.

Tyner will have to come in and really turn some heads if he wants to see some playing time for the Red Raiders. Hopefully, there will be some specific packages in the offense for him that can utilize his huge 6'5, 250-lb frame.
