
Texas Tech Edge Rusher David Bailey Selected by the New York Jets During the NFL Draft
Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey didn't have to wait long to hear his name called in the 2026 NFL Draft in round one on Thursday night. Bailey's name was expected to be called anywhere from #2 overall to #10.
That's how good he is.
Everyone knew that QB Fernando Mendoza would be the first pick to the Las Vegas Raiders. And the the New York Jets were next on the clock at number two, and they chose David Bailey of Texas Tech.
Bailey was the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the year. Bailey totaled 14.5 sacks, 32 solo tackles and 3 forced fumbles his senior season.
