City of Lubbock Investigating COVID-19 Outbreak at Bender Terrace
The City of Lubbock is investigating a COVID-19 outbreak associated with Bender Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at 4510 27th Street.
All residents and staff have been tested for COVID-19 and 34 infected individuals were identified. The facility is cooperating with health department and staff and residents have been quarantined.
On Friday, July 10th, the City of Lubbock confirmed a total of 148 new COVID-19 cases, 19 recoveries and an additional death. That makes the total number of cases in Lubbock County 3,524: 1,822 of which are active, 1,642 recovered and 60 total deaths.
The Walgreens at 602 Avenue Q will be operating a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site starting Friday, July 17th. It'll be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 days a week. Visitors will need to take a COVID-19 assessment test before they're given an appointment time.
