The latest high school phenom to sign up to play at Texas Tech is Micah Peavy, who's a year away from winning a state championship at Duncanville with current Red Raider Jahmi'us Ramsey.

The 6'7" guard is in his senior season and committed today (November 4th) to sign with the Red Raiders in December.

Peavy picked Texas Tech over Texas, LSU and Oregon, among others. He's currently ranked as the 43rd prospect in the country, and the 2nd best prospect in Texas, according to 247 Sports composite rankings.

Peavy draws comparisons to Jarrett Culver already with his size, position and skill set, but it's safe to say that Peavy is a more polished player in high school than what Culver was when he played at Coronado.

The 2020 class now consists of Peavy and Chibuzo Agbo, another 6'7" guard ranked in the top 150 nationally as a prospect. Texas Tech is also in on Nimari Burnett, a 5-Star combo guard that would make the class a top 5 class nationally. Burnett is scheduled to choose between Alabama and Texas Tech in December.
