What Would the Founding Fathers Think About Obama-care?

One issue in the debate about Obama-care is whether the federal government has the authority to force us to by a product such as health insurance.  On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Rep. Randy Neugebauer was asked if a constitutional amendment is needed to make clear that the constitution does not give the government that power.

“I think the founders would tell you they thought they had done that.  I often say that if you were in a room with the founders today they would be speechless basically at how broadly we’ve interpreted this very simple document that was

really meant to empower states, limit the federal government.  Yet in many cases we’ve done the opposite of that.”
