Texas Tech has been named as one of the nation’s most underrated colleges.

Tech was ranked sixth on Business Insider’s 25 Most Underrated Colleges list.

The list compares the mid-career salary of graduates according to PayScale, along with the U.S. News & World Report rankings of the best colleges.

The article specifically highlights Tech’s Whitaker College of Engineering, stating that the graduates go on to earn an average mid-career salary of $86,700.

Texas Tech President M. Duane Nellis said “Our reputation is on the rise as students’ future earning potential is evident with the success of our alumni. We hear from a greater number of students each year who express their desire to attend Texas Tech.”

The list states that The University of Massachusetts-Lowell is the most underrated college.

The other Texas school on the list is the University of Houston, which ranked 15th.
