Texas DPS Trooper Seizes Cash, Drugs During Traffic Stop Near Slaton

A Texas DPS trooper seized a hefty amount of cash during a traffic stop on Thursday.

The trooper stopped a 1991 Mercedes-Benz heading westbound on Highway 84 near Slaton for a traffic violation around 5 p.m. Thursday, March 13th.

During a search of the vehicle, the trooper found almost $43,000 in cash, a handgun, and a small amount of marijuana inside the glove compartment.

The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old Larry Morgan of Converse, Texas, was placed under arrest for money laundering, possession of marijuana, and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Morgan was booked into the Lubbock County Jail, and has since been released on bond.
