Maybe Councilman Paul Beane is right about updating the city charter. Did you know you can be drafted into the police force?
Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin joined KFYO's Rex Andrew and Paul R. Beane on the Friday edition of Lubbock's First News to discuss Thursday's council meeting.
This week, the Lubbock City Council will debate and possibly vote on a new ordinance that would give Police the discretion to tow a vehicle if the driver doesn't have auto insurance. Councilman Paul Beane and Councilman Jim Gilbreath are sponsors of the ordinance. This ordinance has been passed in other cities in Texas, such as Dallas and Corpus Christi, so it's nothing new to the state.
