An officer forcibly stopped the truck in the 6100 block of I-27, and the truck wound up on top of the police cruiser.
The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, and was pursued by officers to Alex and Verna Cooke Park, where the driver got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
Lubbock Police say that Juan Gilberto Mora reportedly stabbed 28-year-old Elizabeth Garcia multiple times in her apartment at the Toledo Court Apartment Complex at around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, April 6th.
Lubbock Police found 28-year-old Elizabeth Garcia in her apartment with multiple stab wounds to her torso and head. Garcia was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect in both incidents is described as a black male, standing 5’9” to six feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds.
According to the LPD press release, the suspect walked in through the front door on Tuesday night, brandished a gun, and demanded money from the store clerk. Lubbock Police need the public's help in identifying the suspect.
The driver fled in the vehicle, then pulled onto the front yard of his residence in the 200 block of Cherry Avenue and fled on foot.
On February 28th, 2014, the woman suspect entered the Planet Fitness gym at 50th Street and Indiana Avenue and stole a set of keys from a locker.
The front passenger of the vehicle, 28-year-old Eduviges Armando Payan, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The suspect reportedly purchased several items at the Walgreens at 50th Street and Slide Road on the morning of February 2nd, 2014.
