South Plains College recently announced administrative faculty changes.

Teresa Green and Ronnie Watkins were both promoted within the college recently and assumed new duties and responsibilities.

Teresa Green has served as a controller at South Plains College for the last 14 years. As of July she assumed the duties of Vice President for Business Affairs. Greens new duties include accounting, budgeting and financial reporting for the college. Green succeeds Anthony Riley, who served SPC for 22 years. Before joining SPC, Green worked as an assistant comptroller for Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and as the Director of Accounting and Finance for KPBS TV/FM n San Diego, California.

“I’m looking forward to just learning the job and the challenges that come with a new position,” Green said. “Having worked closely with Tony Riley for the past 14 years has given me insight to my new position.”

Ronnie Watkins, who served as the financial aid manager for SPC for the last three years, has been named dean of administrative services at SPC. Watkins will be responsible for overseeing administrative operations and will manage the purchasing department, information technologies, facilities, financial aid, the Texas Book Company, food services, the Copy Center and the mailroom. Watkins began work at SPC in 2010 as the Title V Activity Director and Faculty Developer.

“My ultimate goal is to take from my experiences in business processes to make the college more efficient and save money,” Watkins said. “Most of what I do day-to-day does not touch students directly. I am working on keeping everything moving. I will be looking at making things run smoother by implementing more efficient business processes.”

Both Watkins and Green assumed their new duties on July 1, 2014.
