Election day in this year’s contentious elections is coming up soon.

Americans will turn out to the polls to decide whether to stay the course or vote for change on Tuesday, November 6th, and here are some races to watch.

Democrat President Barack Obama faces off against Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Romney served as the Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 through 2007.

Statewide, Republican Ted Cruz will go up against Democrat Paul Sadler for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison. Cruz defeated Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst in the July 31st primary runoff. Sadler beat Grady Yarbrough for the spot in the runoff as well.

District 19 U.S. Representative Randy Neugebauer, a Republican, does not have Democratic opposition in this race. He will go up against Libertarian Richard “Chip” Peterson.

Christi Craddick, a Republican, faces off against Democrat Dale Henry in the race for Railroad Commissioner. Vivekananda Wall is running as the Libertarian candidate, and Chris Kennedy is running under the Green Party.
