A Lubbockite has been appointed to a state board.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has appointed six members to the Texas Emerging Technology Advisory Committee.

This particular committee recommends proposals eligible for funding through the Texas Emerging Technology Fund to the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the house.

David L. Miller of Lubbock is chief operating officer of Flat Wireless, owner of Synergy HomeCare, and former vice chancellor of research and commercialization for the Texas Tech University System.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University, a Master of Business Administration and a law degree from Texas Tech. His term on the committee will expire on September 1st of 2014.

Miller joins appointees Christopher DeCluitt of Waco, Sha-Chelle Manning of Fairview, J. Mark McWatters, Ofer Molad of Bellaire, and Jaye Thompson of the Woodlands on the committee.
