Lubbock Police to Close Area of 4th Street for Accident Investigation

A west Lubbock street will close Tuesday morning for an investigation.

Both lanes of the 7300 block of 4th Street will be closed by Lubbock police Tuesday morning for a traffic investigation.

LPD will close the street at 8 a.m. on July 31st to conduct the investigation, following the wreck which involved a pickup truck and a motorcyclist on Saturday night.

30-year-old Christopher Winegeart was reportedly speeding in a construction zone when he hit 28-year-old Russell Julian around 10 p.m. Julian was rushed to Covenant Hospital with serious injuries.

Winegeart has been arrested for intoxication assault.

Traffic will be rerouted around the area during the investigation.
