Lubbock Police officers stopped a robbery in progress early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a check subject call at the Stripes convenience store at 34th Street and Avenue Q just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8th.

Police reportedly found 29-year-old Isaac Rojo committing a robbery in the store.

According to Lubbock Police, Rojo had walked into the store and demanded that the clerk give him money from the register. He was reportedly placing his hand in his waistband and saying that he had a weapon.

After his arrest, officers found that there were items which belonged to the store in his pockets, but he did not have a weapon.

Rojo has been charged with robbery, theft, and tampering with evidence. He is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on more than $11,000 bond.
