Lubbock Police have arrested one of the people that reportedly escaped from a community correction facility.

Officers attempted to stop a black Chevy Silverado after it drove across the front yard of a residence just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15th.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, and was pursued by officers to Alex and Verna Cooke Park, where the driver got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Officers reportedly found the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Chazric Montrel Simms, on a roof in the 6200 block of 13th Street.

Simms and another man, 19-year-old Jordan Duran, escaped from the Lubbock County Court Residential Treatment Center on Monday. As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Duran is still at large.

Simms has been charged with evading in a vehicle, evading on foot, criminal trespass, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and escaping while confined. He is being held on more than $24,000 bond.
