Statistics for the Lubbock Economic Index were released today.

The LEI for March 2011 dipped down 1.5% from March 2010.

Taxable retail spending in Lubbock increased by 6.4%.

Job growth was almost unchanged from March of 2010, with total employment increasing by only .5%.

Existing home sales plummeted for the month, falling over 30% and airline boardings fell 6.9%.

Lubbock’s unemployment rate rests at 6%, the same as March of last year.
