A Big Spring man has been sentenced for possessing child pornography.

Jacob Ray Albarado was sentenced Friday morning to 10 years in federal prison followed by a 15-year term of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings.

The 20-year-old Albarado was arrested in March of 2013 on a federal indictment alleging possession and production of child pornography and attempted enticement of a child.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Albarado befriended a minor female and communicated with her using his cell phone for more than a year.

In late 2012, the minor began a dating relationship with Albarado and ran away from her home to his apartment in Big Spring.

The two reportedly agreed to produce a video depicting them engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and made the video using her cell phone.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s ICE Homeland Security Investigations and the Big Spring Police Department.
